How To Teach Your Baby To Read Newspapers And Books By 2 Years Old?

KinderU is an early education centre whose programs are inspired by right brain specialists like Doman, Shichida and Suzuki. KinderU starts with prenatal education for pregnant mothers and then start to teach babies early literacy as soon as the baby reaches 4 months. KinderU can confidently teach your child to read by around 5 to 10 months old. Late starters will also attain the same results within 8 to 10 months.

Betty Ho, founder of KinderU explained that the name “KinderU reflects their belief that babies have advanced learning abilities, and they can attain knowledge that is as advanced as University students. The most important thing is that we should teach them with love, care and respect.

The prenatal education device, BabyPlus, was invented by Dr. Brent Logan in Seattle in the early 1980s and have been used by 160,000 families all over the world. To-date, more than 900 families in Hong Kong have successfully completed the program. Eda Yuen, a mother of a 10 day old baby girl said that her baby has been quiet, calm, sleeps well and nurse well from birth and she and her husband is extremely happy with the results of prenatal education. They are also appreciative of the consultation offered by KinderU all through her pregnancy.

KinderU was founded in 2002, and have since taught more than 2,000 babies. The Program Director, Betty Ho, explains that each and every baby is a genius waiting to be nurtured with love. Betty explains that babies can even read your favorite magazine or newspaper with you before they reach 2 years old (skeptics are invited view videos of KinderU’s students). Betty is the mother of three children and the youngest one started from prenatal education and is now multi-lingual, speaking four languages and is studying at her own kindergarten

“Babies’ right brains work like sponges and adults’ left brain works like pumps”, whilst both are capable of absorbing moisture and water. A sponge by nature can do the job without any energy source, but pumps need a lot of energy. Babies’ right brains are also like cameras that can take in seven images per second, and remember vast amount of images and facts in an effortless and subconscious manner. Betty explains that this is what you must understand about your baby.

Babies are now happily attending KinderU anywhere from 2 to 6 days a week. Cindy Choi, mother of Maxwell who is now 8 months old said this: “I really do not know what to do with my baby at home before I started coming to KinderU. He was so bored at home. Max is now 9 months old and he attends KinderU for 1 or 2 hours a day, six days a week doing programs in Spanish, French, Putonghua and English. I can see that this is the best part of his day. He comes home happy, more alert and stimulated. I have only one child in the family and at KinderU, he has a chance to play and mix with other children. I am really happy about what KinderU offered Max.”

KinderU offers early right brain stimulation, reading, math, encyclopedic knowledge and music programs in Putonghua, English, French and Spanish. The special feature about KinderU is that they offer a unique “through train” program starting from prenatal education (before birth) to early right brain learning program (0 to 2 years) and the management of KinderU also operates two Kindergarten and Nurseries in Hong Kong (2 to 6 years).

KinderU believes that regardless of nationality, its graduates will happily be multi-lingual and will have the literacy level of a Primary 4 child as when they finish K.3. Rightmind Kindergarten at Pokfulam (25547576) and South Horizons (28750452) continues with the foundation laid during the first two years and continues with Letterland, MPM math, JELIC, Zhonghua Zijing, Suzuki Music Appreciation and Theory, Chinese Dance, Vestibular Exercises, all during school hours. May Au, a parent at Rightmind Kindergarten has this to say about the school: “My daughter loves this school and my husband and I love it too. We live in Kowloon Tong but we do not mind the distance. We believe that what Rightmind Kindergarten has to offer is worth the traveling. They have put together everything that we would be looking for all over Hong Kong and do all of it within the school hours. I no longer have to take my daughter all over Hong Kong to take extra curriculum activities”. Set amongst luscious greenery and close by the seaside, Rightmind Kindergarten enjoys sea breeze and fresh air not found in other Kindergartens in Hong Kong.

Rightmind Kindergarten adopts a total immersion approach for Putonghua and English. French is taught two days a week and Spanish is taught one day a week, all in good spirit to give children an early exposure on these popular languages.

For those parents who wish to start enrichment in music for their children early, KinderU has recruited Hong Kong’s one and only Suzuki violin teacher from the United States and started KinderU Suzuki Music Academy in 2006. The program now has over 15 families with parents and children learning together. Great footage of their first performance can also be viewed here.

The team of teaching staff at Rightmind Kindergarten and KinderU are all selected from individuals who have a genuine love for children and for teaching. They are further provided with in-house and off-site training to enhance their teaching skills. KinderU and Rightmind have a policy of employing native English and Putonghua teachers on their team of staff.
