New Song

At New Song Christian Kindergarten, we believe that all children are created unique and should be cared for in a loving, Christian environment. Each child’s needs, interests and abilities are accepted and nurtured so that every child can be an important member of the class community.

It is our objective to positively develop each child’s self-esteem, self-image, sense of competence and independence. We aim to instil a genuine love of learning and the ability to be a self-motivated learner. Through careful planning and many ‘hands on’ experiences, we aim to provide an environment rich in learning opportunities which fosters all areas of your child’s development: Physical, social, moral, emotional, intellectual, creative and spiritual. Instead of specific subjects (maths, science etc.), we promote an integrated, theme-based approach to learning. This is seen to be the most meaningful way to learn as it reflects the way knowledge and skills are used in the real world and therefore offers better preparation for later life.

Throughout the program your child’s language development will be encouraged, with many opportunities to talk and practice language skills. Alongside curriculum activities, free play and guided play will form an integral part of the program. Children are encouraged to explore, inquire and discover for themselves ‘their world’ and their many experiences in it.

Education is a partnership where those directly involved in it, and the greater community will benefit from cooperation and the sharing of resources. We encourage and support the involvement of both families and the wider community in the learning experiences of our kindergarten children and staff.

For more details on our philosophy and objectives please refer to the Curriculum Booklet.
