Dr Alfred Tam^Popular

After 4 months of HK cough and 4 visits with another popular pediatrician with little success, Dr Tam cured my son's cough. He is extremely thorough and patient although very expensive. Highly recommended.

Some friends says he is very commercial as he is probably the most expensive paediatrician in HK but he is worth it. Excellent bedside manner and very courteous. Treats my baby like a human being and talks to him and not just an object that needs to be examined!

At a minimum of $1000 per consultation, I cringe everytime I go to pay after seeing Dr. Tam. However, he does have an amazing bedside manner with both the kids and parents. He's a pulmonary specialist and very thorough, so if your kids have been suffering from "Hong Kong Cough", he's your man. I brought my son to another Pediatrician for his HK cough which she told me was athsma. I went to Dr. Tam for a second opinion and he did much more testing and came up with pneumonia. He's not coughing anymore for now!

After taking Evan to a few recommended doctors, we settled on Dr. Tam because he was the one who spent the most time with us. We didn't feel like he was in a hurry like some of the other "popular" doctors, even though there were lots of patients waiting outside. We usually wait for around an hour, even with an appointment, but the wait is worth it, as he gives you his full attention. He's gentle with Evan, and very thorough. Kind, sincere, patient, and makes things very clear and easy to understand. A bit pricey, but again, worth it.
