I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Dr. Pang. It is obvious from your description that your visit distressed you (and your child).

We are very happy with Dr. Pang as a pediatrician and recommend him highly to others. Based on our experience he has been both kind, gentle and an excellent doctor (plus he has a good sense of humor and is a realist). He also cares for the children of several friends.

I'm sure by now you have found a doctor with whom you are comfortable and I wish you the best with him/her.

I submitted this entry so that there is more than one perspective on this doctor.

I know that babies do not stay still for throat and ear examinations, but Dr Pang was out of line. He and his nurse forcibly pinned down my baby's head onto the examination table to look into her ear. She has never been assaulted like this, and was screaming and wailing under great distress. Remorseless, he said that this was the only way to do it. I'm sorry Dr Pang, but you're wrong. My regular paed gets the parent to hold the baby still, which works well. A paed's patients are the most vulnerable members of society, and a paed can be technically skilled but isn't much good unless he is kind and gentle. You don't make the cut, Dr Pang.
