Canossa Hospital (Caritas)
Excellent location and very comfortableCanossa is a Catholic hospital with an excellent location at the top of Garden Road, especially for those living in the Central/Mid-Levels area. The facilities and room furnishings are as you would expect of a top-class private hospital, including a well-decorated cafeteria set away from the main building.
Perhaps due to seasonality, occupancy of the maternity ward seemed rather low, and despite only opting for the semi-private package we were able to enjoy a room to ourselves for 6 days.
We are Cantonese speakers so cannot vouch for the English-language standards of the staff. The nursing team were on the whole very professional, although one nurse was a bit too eager to offer our newborn formula and sugar water even after we insisted on breastmilk only.
Overall a very positive experience and certainly recommended.
Comfortable stay for mum and babyThe nurses at Canossa were mostly Catholic nuns and took good care of both my baby and me. I was also lucky enough to have a semi-private room all to ourselves during the entire 5-day stay. The baby normally stays in the nursery which is just down the hall, and the nurses were very good about bringing her to my room when she was ready for a feed. It made my recovery from a cesarean a bit more comfortable knowing that my baby was in good hands. I learn to change diaper/feed from the nurses at my own pace during my stay, which was very important to me as a first time mum.

Absolutely superb, had our little boy delivered there in Sep. I couldn't believe the care shown by the ladies there, truly caring and I would recommend Canossa to anyone. We had a private room but after looking about I would recommend opting for a semi-private as they are seldom full so it will usually only be you in there.
