Mamas, guess who? He bounced around the delivery room on cloud nine, and took every opportunity to parade around town and show you off. He was the first man to show you unconditional love, and who kissed away your boo-boos when you fell and scraped your knee. He taught you how to ride your bike, to stand up to the bullies; he took you to school on your first day, and asked you all about it when he picked you up. He held your hand through exams and break-ups, snuck you chocolates when Mum said “no”, and surprised you with gifts when you least expected it. On all your big days, he was always there, beaming with pride - your graduation, your wedding day, the birth of your first child and everything else in between….

My wife and I were married for many years before we had our first child (eight years to be specific). During our relationship, we always said that even when we had kids, we would remain focused on and committed to our lives not just as a family, but also as a couple. We were committed to keeping the romance alive and we were sure we would still see plenty of our friends, go out, and do all the things we enjoyed doing. We’d just throw the little fella (or fellas) on our backs or in a stroller and hit the road!
