The festive season is approaching and like always there are a number of family friendly events happening around town. From Christmas bazaars, arts carnivals, music festivals to name a few and we know it’s impossible for you to attend them all. So, it was a challenge but we’ve managed to pick the top 5 events happening in the next couple of weeks that you'll seriously regret missing out on. Here we go...

 

 

 

 


1. Michaelmas Fair at St. John's Cathedral


St. John’s Cathedral’s Michaelmas Fair has been running close to 70 years - and just in time for some early Christmas shopping! Join this beloved fair for a wide range of activities, entertainment, food, fun and fellowship. There’s also a Wine and Beer Garden, a second-hand bookstall, a stamp stall, a grand raffle draw and kid-friendly entertainment (think bouncy castles, face paint and live music).

2. Mother's Choice Family Walkathon


Join Mother’s Choice for their second Walkathon on this short (4km) family friendly trail along Bowen Road. The walk ends at Island School for some well-deserved carnival fun with good food, games, entertainment and more.

Time: 9am-2pm
Venue: Island School, 20 Borrett Rd, Mid-Levels
Registration: $150 Ages 4+ (Age 3 and under free)

3. Pumpkins and Pooches - Howl-o-ween Sponsored Dog Walk

If you’ve got a four-pawed pal like ours, that doesn’t like to be left home alone, sign up for Hong Kong's first Halloween themed charity walk with dogs this Sunday. They’ll be face painting, prizes for best costumes (kids and dogs) personalized photos of you and your dog, Halloween T-shirts, treats and more. The Pumpkins and Pooches Howl-o-ween Walk will be spooktakular and will have your canine (and kids) begging for more.

4. Lamma Fun Day

Mark your calendar for the Lamma Fun Day next weekend.  In its 15th year, this free outdoor music festival is the longest running music festival in Hong Kong. With amazing food, arts and crafts stalls, games and lots of kid friendly activities this is one event not to miss. All money raised this year will support anti-tafficking programmes in communities that were devastated by the massive Nepal earthquakes. This year's music line up includes - Shum King Mansion, The Sleeves, Defiant Scum, Hedonia and Stereo is the Answer.

5. Standard Chartered Arts in Park Mardi Gras

Celebrating 15 years of inspiration and homegrown talent! Don't miss the largest and vibrant arts fair in the heart of Causeway Bay. Spectacular lifelike puppets, mesmerising illuminated artwork, kazoo and drum jams, fun carnival art stalls and 16 exciting hours of non-stop performances.
