Medela makes polycarbonate-free bottles apparently. Here's a longer article with recommendations at the bottom for avoiding polycarbonates. It doesn't sound easy...

My baby was born 2 weeks ago and I am now using avent/dr brown bottles at nite when the nanny feeds my baby with my breastmilk.
Not sure if I should seek out the 'safe plastic' products or stick with what I have now...
Anyone has any suggestions?
Thanks!

Like so many of these things it's your call - read the articles, weigh up the risks and see if you think they're worth avoiding. There will always be exposure to chemicals in a modern home - how much effort you're willing to go to to avoid it is your decision. A compromise might be just to keep using the current bottles, but avoid heating them for long periods, and replace them when they start to get worn (older bottles apparently leach more of the problem chemicals).

I don't know where, if anywhere, you could find these in Hong Kong but if you know anyone in the US maybe they can ship these to you. These bottles don't have bisphenol-A and are supposed to help with colic.

went to mothercare today and there were two bisphenol free brands of bottles, the medela and another plastic brand I now can't remember (pregnancy brain). Annoyingly and typically, the mothercare staff weren't able to tell me which of their teats would fit on the medela bottles.

we have avent bottles, but haven't used them much since i'm able to feed at breast most of the time. but what about as baby gets older? what about sippy cups? what about plastic products my husband and i use? does biophenol-A only leech out when heated? how 'hot'? the articles gives a warning to a problem, but very few practical immediate solutions.
