I should be embarrassed.

My little girl is going to be 4 soon. We used to rock her to bed and even now, she doesn't sleep alone. I sleep beside her on her bed (we have a double bed in her room with a wall on 3 sides and a railing on one) until she falls asleep. I really cherish this time with her. My husband comes home every alternate nights so sometimes I'd fall asleep with her... other times I'd just read a book.

I've figured that many years from now, they wouldn't want to sleep with mummy anyway, so why not treasure the years when they want mummy?

I used to rock her to sleep, when she got a bit heavy, I sat on a chair carrying her and patting her while resting my arm on the armrest. When she got too big for that, I told her she was heavy and I would sleep beside her.
