When did you get confirmation on multiples?

I'm pregnant and I went to see Dr., we could see an embryo, but there was as well one egg, so he mentioned it might be twins but we need to wait til next visit (he suggested to see him again in 2 wks). Has anyone been in same situation? desperately appreciate your comments. Thanks a lot!!!!

I saw Dr Doo at 6 weeks and he confirmed via the fanny cam! We saw 2 heart beats on the scan.

I found out at 6w4d. I had an early u/s because of a prior miscarriage in between my children. They measure 3 days smaller but both had h/b at 117 and 131 bpm. That was also the last time they every measured behind. They were born close to 8lbs a piece 12 days early at 38w2d (scheduled induction).

Congrats either way!

I had confirmation at 5w 4d, 2 strong heartbeats - both 160bpm. The Dr said if you get heartbeats early on there's less chance of losing one, if no heartbeats yet, could still have vanishing twin or one egg not viable but not necessarily, might just be too early to tell yet.

Good luck and congrats.. my 2 are 9 weeks now and were also not small when born!!

Thanks! 7lbs11oz and 7lbs10oz and both 20 inches, 12 days early. My oldest was 9lbs+.

I agree with pp, early h/b are often a very good sign. The miscarriage chance will drop from 20-25% to 5%. Unfortunately I have been in that 5%, I lost our second at 11 weeks along.

Good luck and hang in there!
