[Copied and pasted for those who do not have word]

    What is the Ignition Program?
The Ignition Program is developed in accordance with research that has been done over the years by pediatricians and child psychologists that stimulates baby's eyesight, word recognition and natural intelligence, and both the left side and the right side of the brain. Research, especially those by Dr. Glenn Doman and Dr. Shichida, has shown that any activity that stimulates both sides of the brain (the left side for analytical and logical reasoning, like language and maths and the right side for artistic and emotive abilities) promotes intelligence and growth of electrical connections called synapses, which are essential for further learning. Because the right and left brain hemispheres function as opposites they also compliment each other. The left brain is conscious and logical, takes in information slowly and likes repetition. The right brain is subconscious and intuitive, takes in information quickly and wants no repetition.

How does the Ignition Program work?
Each 60 minute session is packed with structured but fun activities for both the parent and the baby/toddler/young child. The atmosphere is joyous and relaxed. For each age group there are two streams of focus:
1 Let’s Read – This is the vocabulary-building stream, using flash cards. Babies have the capabilities to remember and recognize at least a few hundred words all within a few months.
2 Magic Numbers – Using flashing math dot cards, even young babies can learn to add and subtract.
Parents can choose to join either or both streams. For optimum results we recommend that the baby/toddler/young child comes at least 2 -3 times per week.

    Age Groups:
    i. Under 12 months
    ii. 12-18 months
    iii. 18-30 months
    iv. 30-48 months

Whys is it essential for you to act now?
    · The stimulation you provide your baby in the first 3 years has more impact than at any other time in your child's life.
    · Your baby's brain will reach 90% of its adult size by age 3.
    · Studies show that continued and consistent stimulation can boost your child's I.Q. by as much as 20 points.

We had signed up for the Aug 10th trial class for our wee 3 mth old Jade, but they called up in the morning saying that the teacher had the flu and that the class would be postponed to the 24th Aug.

The price I think works out at about $150 per 1 hr lesson. Hope this helps.

We are also interested in other programs and any suggestions will be helpful.
