Congratulations - tiring and a bit scary but the best thing ever.

We used a Scottish nanny called Morva Gillon for a couple of weeks when our baby had colic. I know via this site that she is still looking for a full-time job so she might be available to help (her previous employers left HK very quickly during SARS). Her e-mail address [email protected] - you can say that Alison, mum to Calla recommended you. There is also an agency Rent-A-Mum (phone directory enquiries that you can call) this is how we got Morva - you pay the nanny direct then pay a % (expensive way to do it) They are very well known in HK, very thorough in their background checks so you may want to give them a call.

Also have you thought about getting one of the Health Visitors in to help you? Certainly a cheaper than hiring a nanny. I used Yvonne Heavyside who was an absolute godsend. She's on this web-site as are a number of others - I'm a big fan of Yvonne and make no apologies for my bias - her contact details are: Email [email protected] Contact Number 2530 1905, 9887 3235. Also a lot of people use Hulda at Annerley Midwives (also on this web-site).
