Thumbs up Baby's cotton diaper service ??

(Repost... from another forum. Thanks to rani)

I am moving to HK with my family from NYC, and we have been happily using a cotton diaper service for our daughter of 7 months. Does a similar service exist in HK? That is, a weekly pickup (soiled) and dropoff (clean).

For all of youse using disposables, cotton diapers are:
- Better for the environment in lots of ways,
- Generally cheaper,
- More comfortable for baby - they "breathe",
- Apparently much easier when toilet training.

Thanks in advance,
Jonathan

Jonathan,

Unfortunately, there isn't a nappy service in HK. I hear they used to be.

Here's another thread on cloth diapering that you may find useful

re-usable nappies/diapers

Re-usable cotton nappies - Bambino Mio

Hi Jonathan

I have a 2 year old now and we used a popular brand from London, Bambino Mio when she was 3 months to 12 months old, supplemented with disposables for night times and outings. The system is an outer cottony waterproofy nappy cover with cute designs that only needs to be changed daily, with thick all cotton foldable absorbent nappies on the inside, folded in various ingenius ways. We also have loads of very thin Kooshies paper liners that can go inside the nappy so you can whisk out any "poops" and flush it down the lav as they are biodegradable.

If these are the right sizes you are welcome to have them for pretty much nothing or just try them out ! we are on Robinson Road.

Gabs
