Question Sensitive about hands & fingers

My little one is very sensitive about his hands and fingers - when he was younger he loved to curl his fingers around ours, but now at 10 months, he would not let anyone touch his hands and fingers. If you try to, he'd flick you away or pull his arm back. This has been going on for a couple of months - I was not initially concerned, but now, it's difficult to teach him to try drinking from a cup or giving him finger food. Other parents talk about their babies picking things up and popping them into the mouth, but (thankfully?) my little one has not done this. He's still very much into "open mouth wide" whenever he wants to eat or drink!

I'll mention this to my PD at the next visit, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has this experience, and if the habit went away with time?
