IVF
Hi Vonnie
Sounds like you're going through a bit of a nightmare at the moment, but I think you've made absolutely the right decision. At the end of the day you have to keep yourself healthy, and OHSS is pretty serious, so its best to wait, although the waiting game is so hard. It was even difficult for me to postpone our treatment until June, because I just want it all to start now!!
But you never know, that seems to be the thing with IVF, miracles happen all the time!!
Try to treat yourself to something nice over the next few days, just spoil yourself a bit, you deserve it!! Please e-mail me if you'd like to make contact.
Fingers crossed
Fiona

cost of IVF
after an ectopic pregnancy several years ago i was told that my only chance of conceiving would be IVF (the remaining tube is in poor shape, hydrosalpinx)
Now I wonder how expensive IVF is in HK. Can anybody give me a rough idea?
And is there an age limit? I am 39.

Vonnie,
just to give you some positive words, my baby is a 'frostie' and I found that the cycle where they defrost embryo(s) is much easier on the body than what you've just been through. go find those online support groups mentioned above; there's also ivfconnections.com, which has a busy board with all kinds of topic-based discussions.
vol de nuit, I didn't do my IVF in HK so I can't help with costs; age depends on your individual medical "workup", but if you're considering it, it's basically the sooner the better.

We are planning to come to Hong Kong for our IVF or ICSI. Anyone has idea about place to stay such as furnitured appartment or hotel appartment around Central or Happy Valley? We plan to go for Dr Milton Leung at Sanatorium Hospital. Thank you so much for everyone who post in this site! You guys make me feel I am not so alone and a much better. Keep in touch with you all, and wish you all the best of your luck.

There's a list of serviced apts on GeoExpat:

The Eatons are in Happy Valley and there's also a Shama in Causeway Bay.

I am starting a cycle in Thailand in February. This will be my first attempt. I am going there since the doctor in Hong Kong just said it would be to much of a hassle and to much to keep coming and going from Hong Kong. i live in guangzhou. I am using a clinic called SART. I am planning on staying there for the 3 3weeks and then returning. HAs anyone else gone there?
