Mine were underweight, that's why they had to stay there. I think if the babies are over 5 lbs (can't remember the exact weight) they will not need to stay in NICU.

Thanks! I think it should be 5 lb as the standard, looking forward to receive my babies above standard weight!

at 34 weeks I was so miserable I begged my doctor for a scheduled C-section at 36 weeks, however at my 36 week appointment, somehow I decided I could hang on a little longer and had a scheduled C-section at 37 and half weeks.

I know under 35 weeks you have to go to Queen Mary (if you are located on HK island) as there is a chance of needing NICU unit which is only fully equipped at QM.

I had the girls at Adventist Hospital

also 36 to 38 weeks is considered full term for twins!

Search for twintalk - a great website with a superb forum to ask any twin questions

Also, twin babies born at less than 34 weeks cannot breathe for themselves, and therefore need to be in NICU.

Vaginal Twin Delivery.

I thinks its a shame HK doctors are so averse to allowing women to give birth vaginally with twins. It IS possible!! Obviously the babies have to be in the right position and if they are then theres no reason not to try.
I went full term with my twins and had a wonderful team of doctors who encouraged me to give birth naturally. They were my first babies too. We are blessed with modern technology and ceasarian know-how...but it seems to me HK are too keen to cut.
