Dear MG & Rani,
Many thanks for your help!
I am new to Hk and pregnancy so to be honest I am a little clueless and this board has been a great help. I have booked in with Dr Ghosh for next Friday so I will check him out and see what I think. It is so hard as I have been living in Singapore the last year where I had a fabulous doctor who I loved.
MG - one more thing: everyone I know that has been to the Matilda raves about it (and I want a private room so my partner can stay - I find that appealing). Did you find it as good as everyone always says it is - is it worth the money?

Matilda
Hi Murial,
About Matilda - yes ... yes... and YES. It is expensive but sooo WORTH it. The midwives are very experienced and extremely helpful and looked after me so well. My friends who have had their babies at Matilda all have had the same excellent experience there.
My husband didn't find his single sofa cum bed as comfortable but well ... it's about the mum isn't it :)
Good luck for your appt with Dr. Ghosh - hope it all goes well for you and you're as happy here in HK as you were in Singapore.

Hi Muriel,
I strongly agree with MG. I just had my second baby delivered by C-section by Dr. Ghosh 10 days ago. He is fabulous! First one was also a C-section as she was OP, 10 days late and very big. I also was very keen on natural labor the first time around and Dr. Ghosh let me go as long as he could before he advised having a C-section. I had no regrets and decided to do the same thing the second time around. The recovery was quick both times. I had/have no pain and have stopped taking the pain killers.
And re the Matilda -- worth every single penny! If you forget the comfort, the midwives are just terrific. Very patient and helpful.
All the best of luck.

I also had my first baby with Dr Gosh and highly recomend him. My scar is almost invisible. I agree he is expensive, but I guess it is worse. I am having my second one with him. I really trust him as a doctor and don't doubt his expertice. Although, have in mind that sometimes he acts as a big star, so to be with him you need to know how to deal with that.
Good like.
