My son was diagnosed with Eczema as well. Like most moms, we did all the different products/methods route until we went to see a pediatric allergologist who recommended an allergy test. Result showed he was allergic to several food and house elements - even dog hair! So we avoided all those allergens and he has been eczema free for almost a year now.

    Dear everyone,

We brought our baby to get an allergy test done by paed allergist in Australia when she was 3 mths old. The test apparently was not conclusive at her age (16/16 negative). I want to get the test re-done. What is the best age to get conclusive results? I don't want to do a blood test though. A relatively painless prick skin test is all I am going to subject my baby to. THANKS!

I would also like to add what sunrays said...

my homeopath suggested that I stop all dairy produts..esp. milk...it's worked like a charm...i guess it does have a lot to do with what food your allergic to

My son did the skin test. Very conclusive and once we took out all the allergens from his diet/surroundings, then his Eczema disappeared

    on the face only

    Hai momies,

My son is 22 months oldand of late has developed rashes on his face.
They appear only on his face.We applied Hydrocortisone and it subsided.
Toreduce the heat in th ebody we started giving him more fruits and fruits juice ,barlley water, cucumber carrot soups but the rashes are coming back again.

(I have always applied Johnsons baby cream after bath on his face)

Presently the climate is not hot though humid.Wonder why they appear again.Could it be the pollution?
Could it be eggs? But he has had eggs for lunch or breakfast since he was 1yr old.And there was never any problems.

    Can someone comment on this?
Thanx a lot for ur time.
    engee

Hi everyone! For babies eczema, try using TruBaby Sweet Baby Eczema Cream. It is unscented, steroid and fragrance free cream so it does not irritate even the most sensitive of skin types. Just apply liberally to face and body areas of skin discomfort to seal in moisture. Great for after bath on damp skin, before bedtime, or in the morning under sunscreen for extra protection during the day.
