When to start using toothpaste?

    A babies first teeth usually erupt around the age of 6-10 months old. You should really start brushing their teeth then with or without toothpaste especially if they are eating solids. A good website to look at is: www.toothclub.gov.hk

    While fluoride is important, make sure that if they are swallowing the fluoride toothpaste, as everyone has mentioned, you use a very small amount. Fluorosis can be caused by too much fluoride (see the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry at: http://www.aapd.org/publications/bro.../fluorosis.asp).
