playgroup vs. pre-school programs

my daughter is already in a nursery school in ny. 2's nusery!
when she gets to hk this summer i want to put her into a similar program. what is the difference between playgroup and pre-school? is it a difference between a structured and a non-structured curriculum? i'm abit confused since the playgroup does go up to 6 yrs (hkppa) and i can't imagine a 6 yr old in a "playgroup" that is non-structured and accompanied by a caretaker.

i don't know anything else but to put a 4 or 5 or 6 yr old in anything but a nursery school 1/2 day programs OR a day care (10-12 hr program that is similar to what i can babysitting only with some structure).

please clarify for my little and very active girl.
thank you
