Hi Sunrays,

It's good your result came back negative, our worry is never ending, wonder if it stops the moment the baby is in our arms.

The blood test that accompanies the Nuchal translucency screening, is called the Bart's triple test.
It is gives a more conclusive result on whether the baby could have Down's.

My result went from a one in 394 chance of Down's ( according to age ) to one in 7965 after the combined tests.
It can be useful in reducing the need to have an Amniocentesis.

Next weeks Buddies lunch was to be Friday, which I think is a holiday.
Is anyone keen for a 12.30 lunch Friday? Need some suggestions for the venue.

Cheers

Matty

Fridays works well for me. How about Isola in IFC? Or if we fancy great Indian curry, The Conrad does a really good buffet in the lobby lounge, very reasonable too. I hope lots more of you can make it, will be great to meet you all.

You can do private antenatal classes with First Class Community Midwifes. Call Sarah Pickup at 2548 8355 I did that because I arrived in HK just 5 weeks before my due date so I had to do special & quick training ;-)
Sunrays, I keep you posted about the midwife & also you may ask Sarah Pickup. She is not very "warm" but she explains very well & you can ask ANYTHING (I saw her one without my husband & I had written down ALL the questions I wanted to ask without him to hear !!)
Take care & keep in touch,
Alexandra

Hello mamaS, how do you do?

I thing good time to start antenatal class is 5 or 6 months (the sooner the better as my obs said) but you can start yoga from know to learn how to breath (VERY HELPFUL !!!!!) I started 4 weeks beafore my due date but I'm not a good example and the result has been that I learnt how to push while I had to do it... Not a good memory thought...

I really enjoyed the Bellaband (well it was not A bellaband as, as I wrote before I bought mines in Formes, the french brand in Central), had it in many colors & allowed me to wear my jeans & some normal skirt that I just wore bellow belly & put the band on the belly to hide it. It was not too warm as it was quite hot when I was on my last 5 weeks (I delivered the 20th of may)

Hope to see you soon,
Take care,
Alexandra
