Is bottled water safe in Bali?

    Hi

Has anyone taken a baby to Bali before?
We are planning our very first trip with our 4mth baby and we are going to Bali. I am very nervous as its our first baby and it will be our very first trip on the plane, we would like to seek advice on the following:-

    1. will the bottle water be safe in Bali to make milk formula?
    2. how we should sterlise the bottles in the hotel?
    3. what should be take on our trip for the baby?
    4. the plane journey, any good advice?

    Appreciate any comments or experiences!
    Thanks
    Cheeky

    hi cheeky

not sure about the water as i'd be interested in the answer as well. but regarding how to sterilise the bottles, i'd suggest that you take some milton tablets and you can buy a box from a japanese shop with a lid - fill it with water, add the tablet and soak the bottles after a wash. no need to rinse after.

regarding what to take for baby.. too much is better then running out of stuff there, make sure you have enough clothing for baby (you could always handwash and hang to dry there) bring plenty of sunblock and if you are not breastfeeding at all bring extra formula to be safe. also i'd suggest bringing some panadol/calpol just in case baby does have any aches or pains, diapers, diaper cream, baby wet wipes. also bring a light jacket for them to wear while indoors for the aircon so they don't catch cold, a hat for the sun.

for the flight - feed on take off and landing to help equalise the pressure in baby's ears. and if you have a flight vest bring that, otherwise if you'r taking cathay they have a little belt to loop around baby that goes through your belt, but it was not that great in my opinion.

    GOOD LUCK! and ENJOY!
