We used to be in HK, now in Singapore and returning to HK. We need to put our boys into ESF (one in primary and the other in secondary). Having learnt about the waiting lists etc, we called up the ESF schools on HK island.

The first question was "So, where will you live?" and we would say "Depending on which school has place". They said - "there are no seats currently and we can start the process of waiting list only after you have an address". It would again go back in the same loop.

For new arrivals with kids - how does one go about finalising an address without knowing about the possibility of getting school admission? If I take up a place in Pokfulam, but a vacancy arises in South Island, will I be able to send my boy there?
