    Dear Susan,

There are many places in Hong Kong to get help with your breastfeeding problems.

    1. La Leche League.
For telephone help call Sarah on 2548-7636, Maggie on 2817-7475, Maggie on 9048-1701 (Chinese help) or e-mail to [email protected]

    2. There are two IBCLCs working as independent lactation Consultants in Hong Kong:
    Mrs Chee on 2705-9322
May Hui on 7321-6968 (pager) or 9070-2668 (mobile)

    3. There is a new Breastfeeding Clinic at the Matilda Hospital, open on Mondays. Call 2849-1500 to make on appointment.

This clinic has a free day on Saturday 5th August to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week. Call 2849-1500 or 2849-1595 to get a free appointment.

    4. Baby Clinics
A number of baby clinics in Hong Kong hospitals have IBCLCs working at them. I know that Matilda Hospital and the Canossa Hospital do. Ask to see a lactation consultant when making the appointment.

    5. MCHC
Often the government clinics have lactation consultants on their team. For a list of clinics go to

    Dear Sue,

I have got help from Mrs Chee (her # mentioned in Sarah's message) when I first had my baby. I had problem with my supply and also I had trouble getting him to feed on my breasts. Every feeding was like a war and I was so stressed out that I cried every night. Then Mrs. Chee help me sort out the supply problem and ever since then I have been able to feed my baby with expressed breast milk exclusively for 6 months now.

I don't know what problem you are facing but the best is to call her and she will come to your house to see you and the baby. Think she charges something like $625 per visit on weekday and a bit more on weekends. But she will stay as long as she needs each time she visits.

    Good luck!
