    G.Vaginalis during 23 weeks

Hi, did any mom have g. vaginalis during pregnancy. I did not have much symptoms but just some white discharge. So, I went to see my doctor and then she found that after a lab test. My doctor gave me a 5-day antibiotics course. The name of the antibiotics is Zinnat. Did anyone try that before? Is it safe?

    Many thanks!

eat lots of yogurt, and perhaps fast a bit as well.

personally I would stop taking the antibiotic since it kills all bacteria and wreaks havoc in the intestinal tract.

Gardnerella is found in the vagina normally but its synergistic effect of its overgrowth causes some problems. Upping the lactobacillus in your body (via certain yogurts, I know Horizon contains 5 strains, one of which is lactobacillus)

If you want to continue (or are almost through with the antibiotic) then wait till after you're done with the meds to bother with the yogurt. Eat it every day, several times a day, religiously, as much as you can for a couple of weeks. This will normalize the bacterial flora in your intestines and vagina which, without bacteria, will be very prone to a yeast infection now unless recolonized.

also, gee, white discharge only? Sorry for Too Much Information, but did it smell funky, or normal? It seems you may have been misdiagnosed...

I'm not sure at all about G.Vaginalis during pregnancy, but I've never heard to it referred to as specifically risky, and I've done a lot of pregnancy reading (have a library of 15+ natural pregnancy/birth books)

As i'm in the middle of the course, I think I'd finish the course and would take your suggestions of taking more yoghurt daily.
    Thanks!
