but Stokke IS a highchair. not much difference at all - highchair does not mean plastic - can be anything. In my mind - highchair is good if you have the space. also in my case we have very nice dinning chairs - i really did not want to pop a booster chair on top of that.. so pros and cons in both

The typical high chair to me, is the one with plastic, reclining seat, tray, etc. The ones most kids grow out of at age 18 months, maybe 2. Stokke is a high chair, but very different to the typical one.

Definitely would second for a Stokke Tripp Trapp. We used to have a peg perego highchair when bub was 4 months. We figured out it's a wrong buy soon after, coz he never was tall enough to reach the food tray, nor could we put him near our table coz the chair was too bulky. What we hated it most was that bub was always sweaty in it, and the fabric was so difficult to clean. So we ended up buying a booster seat for him which was more convenient. But now at 2 years he's growing out of the booster seat plus there is no foot rest for him. So we decided to get him a Stokke. He likes it so much. If I only knew how good it is we would have purchased it earlier. It's so convenient, and easy to clean.

if you had booster seat, i think it unnecessary to have high chair esp. your baby is 6 1/2 months old (unless your home have plenty of space and you have spare $)
people usually buy highchair brand like combi/ aprica which can be used as rocker or a temp nap bed in the living room from newborn because it can be reclined to 170'+ degree. then, make it multi-purpose by adjusting the back when your baby getting older who start to learn sitting and then fit for meal time
