i also followed some of the Annabel Karmel book. I find it very helpful for us 1st time moms. i never knew what kind of consistency i should give my baby. i was laways worried that she'd choke on sth. but that book showed very good pictures & suggests a lot of good combinations of first foods.

usfret, if i'm using fresh spinach (i used baby spinach salad, but that was last yr before all these spinach scare), i blanch, drain & puree in a blender. then put them in ice-cube trays. but i started with frozen organic spinach. And i agree with Roshna re:frozen veggies. I did a little research on frozen veggies & fresh ones. fresh ones, you never know how long they've been sitting on the counter before you buy them.

I started mine (now 16 months old) with carrots & tomatoes, then added more different varities later on... like potatoes, choy sum, pumpkin, spinach, etc...so far, she's not too picky with veggies.
