    Vaccination for expat's baby

I have a friend who is coming to work in HK soon and will have a HK work visa and residenship. Is his baby eligible to have the free vaccination at the government baby's clinic ?

Yes, once they have their ID cards they can use the public system, including the Child Health care clinics.

They can use the public health system but from what I understand vaccinations are only free for babies born in HK; those born outside HK can still have the vaccinations, but at a minimal price.

Are you sure Beky? Their website states that you only need a HKID card to be eligible for free vaccinations.

It's funny, because after we relocated here, I spoke with a few local parents, they urged me to go to a private doctor and get vaccinations there because they say the government ones are "not as good" It's kind of funny how the locals perceive of their own health system.

Am not 100% sure, just going on what I read in an article written by someone relaying her experience of going public for vaccinations.
