I've heard of babies lighter than your son :-)

Where is he on the baby health charts?

My baby is 15 months and about 13kg which is the very top of the scale, but he was a big boy right from the start - born at 4.1kg.

According to the latest WHO growth charts, http://www.who.int/childgrowth/stand...ercentiles.txt
A 20 month old boy who weighs 10Kg is on the 15 percentile. (This means that if you take 100 boys all 20 months old then there will be 14 boys lighter than your son and 85 heavier than your son.)

This sounds fine to me. My children are all between the 5th and 20th percentiles. Both my husband and I are on the 10th percentile.

What percentile are you and your partner on? This is usually the biggest indicator of where your child should be.

    Best wishes,
    SARAH

I don't know how heavy my third child is, he's five months. Whilst the weight charts are a useful indication of growth, they can also cause parents to obsess over which percentile there child is on. My take on it is, if your child is thriving and continues on roughly the same centile then everything is OK.

But I have heard some parents whose child has been steadily weighed on one centile, trying to get them heavier as they see this to be more healthy. The size of your baby is not only determined by how much you feed them, but also by their genetics, if the baby's parents are small framed, light people it's unlikely that they are going to be cruising around the 95th percentile.
