My 11 month old is a very independent eater. We are yet to find a food that she doesn't like. She eats everything we do, as long as she can feed herself. We don't feed her food not recommended under one year, eg. honey, strawberries, peanuts. A typical day is:

Breakfast - wholegrain toast with vegemite and a banana
Lunch - leftovers from previous night's dinner (today was chicken & vege & pasta) and cut fruit (eg. papaya, watermelon, mango, apple, blueberries, orange, etc)
Dinner - lamb shanks, roast potato, vege and cut fruit.

She will sometimes tolerate me feeding her baby yoghurt.

She still has 4 bottles a day (formula).

    Hope that helps.

    Hi jane01,

Do you need to blend the food for your LO ? Are you already feeding her your food ?

    Thanks,
    Bear

by one year a baby should be able to eat everything that you do, just make sure that it's cut into very small pieces. no need to blend it at this age, unless baby has no teeth.

My one year old typical meal are like that:

    Breakfast - bread and fruit
lunch - congee with fish or chicken, veggie
snack - stewed egg, mashed potato, fruit
dinner - congee with pork or beef, veggie

Two bottles of formula a day. And we found that he like to eat our food rather than milk.

i would suggest being careful always feedin congee as the baby may decide later that he doesn't like food with other textures.

a one-year old NEEDS to be exposed to all of the textures that food can have. if you leave it too long, it can become VERY DIFFICULT to introduce the new foods.

As our 11 month old will not allow us to feed her, purees are out. I just cut the food up into pieces she can pick up and she does the rest. For pasta I use fussili (sp?) or penne and she just picks it up and eats it. I am quite impressed for someone with only 4 teeth.

My 3 (almost 4) y.o. on the other hand is a terror "mummy, feed me".

our 11 month old also eats what we eat, other than anything really spicey or a tough cut of meat. He eats off the table just like the rest of us, I cut the food smaller.
