Have you lost the weight?
Hi everyone,
have you lost the weight you gain from pregnancy? And how much have you lost? And HOW?
I've gained 30 lbs since birth of my daughter, lost only 5 so far!! It's been 7 1/2 months already. I'm really frustrated by how slowly this is progressing. I've been watching what I eat and some random excercise. Do I need to do more? Help!

I put on 55 pounds, lost 30 after 2 months. Now my boy is almost 6 months and I still have that 20 pounds on me, all in my already thick waist, butt and thighs. I am now 2 sizes bigger than before. It freaks me out everytime I see myself naked in front of the mirror. I have to admit I have not exercised or on any diet.

I gained about 30 pounds I think when I was pregnant. I am now (baby is 6.5 months) a bit lighter than before I was pregnant. I guess I lost most of the weight by breastfeeding and not really eating much more than I usually did anyway (I did not eat for two) when breastfeeding. But I did lose some of the weight after a bout of food poisoning recently. As to exercise I do not exercise except for walking to the MTR for work and walking up escalators.

I gained 30 pounds during pregnancy and lost 20 of it in about 4 months after, but the extra 10 has stuck by and have refused to budge. My daughter is now 13 months old. Most of my friends say that they have still the extra 6-10 pounds.

With my dd, I gained 40 lbs. I breast fed and exercised maybe 2-3x a week. I didn't particulary watch what I ate, and it took me a little over a year to get to my pre-preg weight. But then I gained about 12 lbs back and struggled with it. I managed to lose it when I started weight watchers, (took me 4 months!), but then I got pregnant again and stopped going to weight watchers. My baby is now due in less than 4 weeks, and I'm going to try a lot harder this time to lose the weight.
But to answer your question, the key to losing weight is to burn more than you take in. So yes, you need to exercise more, and regularly. Althernate cardio (walking, running, swimming, aerobics, whatever) with strength training (weights.) You can buy a pair of 5lb weights to use at home, and that will help a lot. Continue to watch what you eat, making sure you're not taking in too many carbs and eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. If you eat out a lot, try to cut back a bit.
Good luck!

I gained 21 kilos and lost 23. My son is 6 months now. It is an easy job when you run after 2 kids.....

I went back to my pre-pregnancy weight in 4 months and since then lost 4 more pounds. My son is now 7 months old. Breastfeeding helped, did lots of sit-ups before I returned to work and ate as normal. Returning to work helped keep the weight off and after work I take over from my hubby in looking after bubs. Noticed that I am not sleeping as much as I did and looking after bubs certainly kept me on my feet more hence no more lounging on the sofa which I used to do.
I think the key thing is to drink lots of water, eat lots of fruit and vegs. Also during work, I eat my home-made sandwiches instead of eating at cafes and restaurants.
