Adjustments in Gina Ford routine for flying HK to NY
Hi, I am flying HK to NY and am wondering how people coped with long flight and time difference. My little one will be 12 weeks old when he flies in 3 weeks time. He usually wakes up once ~4am for a quick feed (though yesterday he slept thru to 6am, yippeee!). Anyway, whilst on the 16 hour flight to NY should I follow his normal routine hours. Then when I arrive do I immediately adjust to NY time??
I am a Gina Ford fan.

The general wisdom seems to be to switch to local time as soon as you arrive. Also, it's supposed to take a day for every hour of time difference for bubs to adjust completely.
This seemed to be true for me. At least my 7 month old basically was a complete nightmare during a 2 week trip to the West Coast. It was impossible, partly because she'd fall asleep as soon as she got in the car, and we had to drive everywhere. Then, her naps were all screwed up. However, a younger baby may be easier.
Have fun!
