We are looking for somewhere to go for a weekend when my Mum comes to visit in June. I am thinking we might go to Macau, but then wondered about resorts in Shenzhen?

I have heard that there are some amazing spa type hotels and resorts which are much cheaper than you would find in Hong Kong.

Has anyone ever done this, had a retreat in Shenzhen in a nice hotel? Personally I can't imagine it, as I'm not a big fan of Shenzhen, but if there are places you can go that are really comfortable and a retreat kind of environment, for a reasonable price, I would consider it.
