    C-Section at Adventist

    My experience was OK.
The food is awful, and the nurses pushed me too much to BF, they even grab my nipple and put it inside my BB's mouth... ouch!!!
The room was fine, no visitors were allowed as I requested.
If you want to stay with your baby, just tell them.
You can use the pump machine if you really need to sleep, it's in the nursery room.
Epidural is not that terrible ask for local anesthecia first.
Take your own CD with your favorite songs to the operation room... my baby was born with Air Supply... oh no!!! Jajaja!!!
Ask for help the first day... don't try to be independent, I took a shower alone and I faint... and ask for pain medication, even if theygive you suppositories... you better accept them, you need to be OK for your baby.
    Good luck!

Is staying in a semi-private room an overall good experience?

Will my husband be allowed to stay at night?

Will a lactation consultant be allowed?

Husbands are only allowed to stay when you are in a private room.

I've just been discharged from the Adventist, and my experience was very good on the whole. I thought the food was OK (although did order in using dial-a-dinner a few times).

If you are in a private room, you can have visitors whenever you like, am not sure what the hours are for semi-private.

Don't see how they could stop you having a private lactation consultant if you wanted one. After all, it's just a visitor really.

i was there almost 2 years ago, very pleasant memories of the experience (remember didn't wanting to go home, the remote control to call nurses was too much fun..). however, one of the posts did remind me of the inconsistencies of the nurses' concepts of breastfeeding. i remember being very confused too when one nurse tells you to do something and the nurse in the next shift tells you to od something else. so an LC will probably definitely help.

I was just discharged from Adventist few days ago. My experience there was excellent. Food was not bad. Nurses are all very helpful and nice. They tried to do a lot to make you feel comfortable. I stayed in semi-private room. My husband/visitors were allowed to come 9am - 9pm and not overnight.
