MayC I am so happy for you!!! :tmi
Your news are so comforting me because give hopes, and love, and happiness...everything we need when we dream about a baby! Congratulations my dear, dear friend!
You and Liquorice gave the rest of us an immense joy!
I had, finally, my answer. After trying and trying to get in touch with them, they answer my second email, so I will have first the blood test and after see the doctor. Hope for the best....
I was thinking not to take the laptop with me, but I am not sure I can stay all these days without you girls... So, I'll see and let you know....
MayC, how many embryos you transfered every time?
I had first time 3 embryos and now, if they survive ( I really hope so!!!), I have left only 2 embryos...

Hi Adrianna, when exactly do you go for your FET? Very soon now isn't it? Exciting...! I wish you tons of luck. How long will you stay in HK after the transfer?

Splitting Snow, best of luck to you as well. I hope the 2ww isn't too painful. I am with Dr Lo too. He is a good guy.

MayC - try not to worry about the fluid problem. I'm sure it will be okay - and your doctor himself said he isn't worried at this stage. You have come this far; the Gods are on your side. Glad you have a singleton too, as you wanted! I had my 3 month scan yesterday and found out that I am having a little boy. It was amazing to see him. Though I had lots of tweaks and twinges in the first month I haven't felt anything for ages and I'm not showing so I started to wonder whether I was still pregnant at all. I still feel so incredibily, incredibly lucky. We are going public for this delivery too. No insurance and we really can't justify the cost of going private - and as you said, with so much already spent up until now it seems the sensible thing to do. I am a bit nervous about it though. I chose a hospital and went to register already and it was a completely different experience from any healthcare I've had in HK so far. Nobody really tells you anything at all. Just tells you to do things but doesn't explain why or what the next steps are, or even are willing to answer any questions. I am continuing to see my doctor for the occasional appointment so that I can feel more comfortable.

    Luck and love to everyone.

    Hi girls

Great to read all your news. MayC so exciting you saw the heartbeat already. I can't believe time has gone by so quickly. I am not surprised you nearly cried, you have had quite a journey. I was going to go public for any birth I had so I investigated and it sounds like a good option. If money is an issue I would just do that. The healthcare will still be great. I wouldn't worry about the water that Dr Ho mentioned - there will be lots of little things along the way and you can't worry about all of them or you will kill yourself worrying! Just remember that you didn't think you would make it this far, you were worrying about your embryos etc and you have got pregnant. So have faith and relax! (I know it's easier said than done...)

Splitting Snow - good luck with your IUI result. You have the right attitude that it may not work, but let's hope it does and good that you have options to continue if not.

Adrianna - good luck with your FET. Good luck comes in 3s and MayC and Liquorice are the first two... so?

Augustbump how is your pregnancy going?

As for me, I have desperately been researching clinics in the UK as something to do - it's so hard to just keep waiting knowing every month is one less egg! There is so much choice over there and so much information it's been a bit overwhelming. Plus now our dog has failed her rabies antibody test so she can't move until January - I am tempted to stay here and just do some IVF with Dr Ho as that will save some money in kennel fees... We will see.

Oh and thanks for all your encouragements about eating what I want during this time - MayC you obviously like oysters! I am a big sushi fan so enjoying having lots of that - and also drinking lots of wine and coffee (well, I am from the UK... ;-)

    Kazbo

Kazbo, there is a clinic in the UK that has a much higher success rate for IVF than usual - something like 60 or 70% I think - because they use a new technology to scan the embryos. I think success is much higher because they can tell which embryons won't succeed due to chromosomal reasons. Anyway, not sure if you have come across this place in your research but if you haven't I can ask my mother for the details as she was the one who found it and talked to me about it...

A lot has happened since I last logged on.
First of all, I am very excited for you Adrianna, you are finally doing your FET this month! Keep us posted how it goes, as I will do mine next month, though mine will be a medicated one, which means I start taking Progynova 3 times a day from D2. At least there will be no injections! :)
SS, good luck and hope you will bring good news to all of us in another week!
MayC, how wonderful you saw the heartbeat of your little one! I am sure all will be fine, just enjoy the journey and take lots of rest!
Kazbo, good luck in trying naturally.
    Liquorice, a BOY!! how wonderful!!

As for me, I am going to Shanghai this sunday for a week, to see the Expo, then off to Vancouver for 2 weeks for our summer holidays!! Yeah......I can't wait!!.....My period should come end of this week, if all goes well I can start my FET next month too!!

Hi girls and thank you for the support! Best wishes to all of you! Let's hope will be all successful, so we will be the group of the year!!! Just joking...
I want to check on my case; MayC you've said something about the rate of your successo, so one question though: How many embryos you transfered every time?

Thanks Liquorice - I have heard of one clinic called ARGC which has consistently high rates of success, especially where others have failed. But they are super expensive and have seriously high criteria needed to be treated by them (low FSH, within certain age bracket) to keep their success rates so high. Nevertheless we will go and see them to see how much it will cost and whether they will treat us.

There is another clinic that is recently getting great success rates with a process of freezing the embryos called vitrification. I wonder if this is where you mean or the other one? (the other one does test embryoas due to immnunity problems in the mother or father).

Anyway, we will see in a few months. Thanks for the tip! Congratulations on your scan resutl, too!

HKiegal - enjoy your holiday as much as possible before you start your FET - give yourself an even better chance of succeeding on your return!

Thank you MayC and good luck. It will be just fine, I feel it.
I asked you because I wanted to check, I think my fertility rate is even lower. First time I've put 3 embryos and none of them survived. Now, I hope I will put the 2 left and I really really hope....
Sorry everyone because, being so focused to ask questions (no one told me what are the steps this second time) I forgot to congrats you and to send you all my positive thoughts.
Liquorice, I am so happy for you and this must be a real special moment for your family: knowing that you'll have a boy, someone real and so wanted!
MayC, the same for you, hearing the heartbeat! I hope to have the chance to share with you one similar experience of mine...But, in the meantime, don't worry about anything. Don't worry if the doctor is not worried. You did it girl, and I don't think something could stop the positive evolution of you, your baby... You just did it, your daughterl will have soon a brother or sister. I hug you with all my heart!
hkiegal I really hope everything will go great and for us too!
kazbo good luck and try to see all the details of the problem, you still have time to inform yourself about everything. Everytime you see a new specialist or clinic, check on internet. All of them are parte of one group of thinking or another. I remember myself when I heart my doctor will do a 3 days embryo transfer. MayC with Dr. Ho did 5 days embryo transfer and I was so sad thinking that I was choosen the wrong doctor. After, I saw that the opinions about this are so different with so many pro and on arguments. And, of course, we had our group here to share experiences and opinions.
    Splitting Snow how's going?
A big hug to all of you !!!!
