Playgroup for 6-month old baby
Hi! My baby is going to turn 6 months and I am keen to enrol him to one or two playgroups a week.
I have just tried Kindermusik which is quite good, but I am also thinking about the following:
- Panda Junction
- Gymboree
- Kindyroo
- My Musik Box
- My Gym
Just wondering if other moms could share their experience about these playgruops, or any others that they found good for babies of this age. My aim is to get my baby to have a chance to meet with other babies and have some fun.
Any suggestions and comments would be greatly appreciated!

Hi.
I started taking my now 10 month old daughter to My Gym when she was 6 months old and we are still going. I think it has been a good choice so far - they practice different things every 10-15 minutes including exercising their gross motor skills, then they have circle music time, etc.
The teachers are for the most part pretty ok.
I also did a their free trial class before deciding - which you could try.
All in all, both my little one and I get a work out once a week so I cant complain.

Arismom, Many thanks for your reply. I think I will do a trial at My Gym. My baby cannot yet sit on his own and cannot crawl yet. Do you think it is better to start at My Gym when he can crawl or stand?
JoanneK, Thanks also for your reply. For Pekip, I understand that the babies have to stay naked for the whole class. How did your baby feel about that? Also, it can get quite messy without the diapers. How can that be 'managed'?
Thanks again!

You can try --
1) Gymboree: They have Sign, Say & Play™ classes every Sat where you learn around 6 different signs each week depending on what the theme of the week is (e.g. Mealtime, Bedtime, Bath Time, Pets, Getting Dressed, At the Park).
2) Tutor Time: Their Infant Activity Group starts at 6 months and it's bilingual (English and Mandarin). They're also starting to introduce some infant signing into their curriculum. Great advantage as the "signs" can provide a link between the concepts learned in English and Mandarin.
Good luck with your choice. I've signed up for Pekip myself (with my baby) starting in Sep. I've heard only good things about them from friends who've tried it.
