Recommendation for furniture maker

We want to get a bookshelf made and would like recommendations for who to go to. We know exactly what we want. We'll be keeping it for a long time so it needs to be great quality. thanks.

Hi Aussiegal,

We had a dining table, bookcase, sidetables, bed and tv cabinet all beautifully made of solid wood, in Macau.
It involves a day trip out there, but it is significantly cheaper.
They made the furniture to our design and specifications, and delivered everything to HK.
We love it and will probably keep it forever.
The woman we dealt with spoke perfect english.

If you are interested I'll dig out the details and send them to you.

Cheers,
Matty.

Matty,
Did they do leather? We want to have a leather ottoman made that matches our sofa and we want it hinged so we can store items inside.

Sorry everyone, I gave the details to aussiegal, and it seems that since we've used them all Macau phone numbers have changed from 6 digits to 8, and adding the 28 prefix doesn't work for this number.

Anyone that's keen, can take a trip to Macau, go to Rue de S.paulo and there are loads of furniture stores that custom make to order.

The one that we used was Wa fat Trading. The woman that we dealt with was May. Very helpful and spoke excellent english.

Kellyst, our bed was about $HK 7000.
Cost will vary greatly though, depending on what you want.
Our bed is solid wood, weighs a tonne, and will last forever.

Can't remember if they do leather, but I'm sure someone out there does.
