All this fitness talk is making me feel so lazy! I am 18 weeks and am feeling a lot more energetic now. I have been walking a lot and swimming a little but even so I haven't been to the gym for weeks! I would like to start prenatal yoga at Pure when I arrive in HK in October. Has anyone been?
As a first-timer, I'm thinking about antenatal classes too. Can anyone recommend any?

Hi Lolipop
Sounds like yoga will be better for you. Also try to swim more. I am at 21 weeks now and am lucky that I am still able to run. Have thought of joining Pure for yoga but have been delaying it....May have to do it in 3rd trimester.
I went to the gym to do some strength training last Sunday and I think all the guys on the weight floor were staring at me when I was lifting or doing squad!

Yeah Donkey, I have always wanted to try Yoga, its always been one of those things I never get round to doing! I think the gym episode was just me having a bad day. I had to have an emergency dr appointment today because of (TMI) nasty discharge over night with some abdominal pain, they have done some swabs - most likely an infection. So I think that is why I was so shaky. ... I am actually glad because I was horrified that just a couple of months off training could make me so unfit! - actually just on a side line to that, as they normally do, they weighed me, and I hadn't put anything on at all in 2 weeks! This happened with my first - put all my weight on in first 2 trimesters then it just stopped piling on - just a very little bit more over the last three months! - will be interesting to see if that happens again!
Wasabubunny - nope no yoga, but probably should have! This is my second, and I have to say it has generally been a lot easier then my first pregnancy - and gone so much more quickly! I know I have said it before, but I just cant believe I am approaching my third trimester next week! I feel pretty good today, but over the last couple of weeks it has been up and down - especially with the hormones! They can turn me into a bit of a monster! Although I have been doing a fair amount of walking and also playing very hard with my very hyper 3yr old, I think not going to the gym has not helped the hormone situation - so it is really nice that I feel I can start all that again (had too much pelvic pain up until now).
Yeah, cant believe this little boy lands in January - Actually, funny fact: All of the females in my family are born in July and August and all of the males in January - isn't that spoooooooookkkyyyy!!! LoL
Have you guys got names for your little ones yet?

lolipop,
Hope you are feeling better! Get some rest and don't worry about anything else. Did you check up my link in a earlier post about basic at home workouts? You could try those - I fine them helpful with back and posture. I weighed myself today and I also haven't gain much in the last week and a bit. I think it's because my stomach is pushed up so much there's no room and I haven't has much of an appepite. I've been forcing myself to have regular meals because I don't feel very hungry most of the time.
We've picked a name but not 100% sure yet. How about you?

Hi I'm new to this forum. I'm due March 15. Have been to Annerley to check things out. Has anyone found out more about the Antinatal classes? And when is the best time to do them. I'm now 16 weeks.

Welcome Julia!
I'm 18 weeks (my first - due March 8th) and thinking about ante natal classes too. I have done some investigating online about Annerley and it seems like a really good option. I'm having the baby at the Matilda and I hear that you can sign up for classes there too, but that they are usually over subscribed.
I am in Japan right now and not moving to HK until the end of October, so any classes will have to wait until then. Have you found any others worth considering?

I am having my baby at Adventist so I have checked their classes. They are cheaper than Annerley, not sure if it is a reflection of quality (Hope not!), but I think I will try their first. They have English class in September, then alternate it with Chinese class the following month. They advised me to take the class after week 25. So I guess if they have one in November I will take it.
Re names - We haven't found any names yet and we don't know the gender yet...
Lolipop - agreed with you, going to the gym to have a workout will make you feel better and more balance. Just watch out don't lift heavy weights. I am thinking of joining yoga next month as I think my running part will end soon...

Does anyone know where we can take infant CPR classes - prefer weekend or weekday evening classes. YWCA only has Friday afternoon classes.
Thanks
