Is Disney possible with a baby?

My husband has just told me he will be away for the whole weekend...! I would like to occupy my 2 kids by taking them to Disney but not sure if this would be possible for me on my own as 1 of them is a baby and the other is 5... Has anybody any experience of this? Can I sit the baby on my lap for some of the 'gentler rides' such as the pooh bear train?

you also need to think about the number of people over at Disney during weekends. Especially since it is still summer break in most schools in China.

and i second the concern on the weather, although last i checked, sun will be showing starting friday ;-)

For the Pooh bear ride, it can be scary for younger children as it's dark inside (a bit loud, too) and it's not a very 'gentle' ride.

you have to think about what'd you do if your 5 yo wants to go on rides, but you can't go with him cos you're carrying your baby. even if you've got the baby in a baby bjorn, it's be dangerous for you to go on the rides. then you'd probably get a screaming little kid who can't go on much of the rides but he is in the park. there are some rides that you can go on with your baby, but there are more where you can't. for the ones that you can have your baby carried, it'd be dark & scary for the younger ones. my daughter is 2 and wouldn't go on any of the rides. we go there often just to watch the parade & browse in the shops.

i suggest you get a baby sitter to watch the baby & go to Disney with your elder one. then both of you can have fun & not worry.

I took my baby when she was 2 weeks - the adults wanted to go - but I didn't have another child to take are of.

If you could have help, I'd say it's doable. Disney is pretty baby-friendly but going it alone would be a risk, I think.

I wouldn't dream of taking my almost 2 year old and my 5 month old on my own. I'd die of stress!
