    Itchy rash on belly

    Hi All,
I've developed an Itchy belly rash. Its only on my tummy.
I saw the nurse at my doc yesterday very very quickly and she said its just a rash (ie. not mumps or anything bad) and that if it gets worse she'll recommend me to the dermatologist...but in the mean time- its still itchy and red and uncomfortable.
Has anyone had this? What can I do to help it?
    thanks!
    Jane

I had heat rash when I was pregnant. It was itchy so I would scratch and the rash got worse. I found using baby powder and keeping myself cool and dry (sweat-free but moisturized) helped

    hi,

sorry to hear about the belly rash - I had it with my first child (tiny bumps that itched ALOT from middle of 2nd trimester all the way to the end) but not with my 2nd......as I had my first child through winter, some woolly tops would annoy the skin and inflame it even more so be careful of certain fabrics - I foudn generally it was more comfortable to have less fabric on it (eg. I always wore my pregnancy pants under the belly rather than on the belly). Keep skin well mosturised all the time (belly butter /shea butter applications a few times a day!) and "air" your belly when possible.....

THanks all...I think it might be a mild form of PUPPS or whatever...arghh...I'm using calamine lotion which does help. I'm just glad that it wont' effect the baby. Thanks for all the advice- it does seem to be getting a little bit better.

I am also discovering that it feels better to have less fabric on the belly so I have been folding my maternity pants so they start under my bump as well.
