My niece is turning yellow few days after her birth. Due to her mom's inexperience, Her Yellow level was so high when she was brought back to the hospital. She got fever too. At the end, the hospital decided that she need to "change" blood.
Please advice on your expericence.
What would be the side effect on this????

Neonatal jaundice is quite common among Asian babies (both my kids had it) and usually goes away without much problem, however there are cases where the bilirubin level gets really high and phototherapy is required or in some extreme cases, a blood transfusion is necessary.
Complications from high bilirubin levels include brain damage, deafness, and cerebral palsy. Her doctor would probably try to schedule for a hearing test later on.

I hope everything turns out well for your niece.

Menginitis
Dear All,
Sadly the cause of the jaundice turned out to be menginitis.
still finding out which kind of menginitis it is.
It would be apreciated if anyone can share their experience about menginitis.
Thank You
