I bought the rice cereal from Bumps to Babes (the Hipp brand). It's organic and doesn't contain any sugar, additives etc.

Use a plastic spoon for babies so that you won't hurt your baby's delicate gums. I use a combi one which you can buy in Jusco/Sogo. I heard that you shouldn't put solids in bottles as the baby will take longer to learn how to eat with a spoon.

The Hipp is good, they offer different kinds of organic cereal.
Premama is right, don't put cereal in bottle, use soft plastic spoons.

If I remember correctly, there are other organic brands which don't have added sugar such as Organix, Healthy Times and Earth's Best. I'm pretty sure these are available at CitySuper and some select Park'n shops (perhaps check their online shopping too).

Earth's Best is available in CitySuper and another brand is Babynat. I got mine from Apita.
Or, you can make your own just by grinding up the rice before cooking it, but not for such a young baby.
(Four and a half months is early for solids, barring any unusual circumstances.)

i used organix that can be found at larger parknshops or their online store. we used a plastic baby spoon from toys r us. if the baby refuses the spoon you could try your finger first.
