I'm looking for a honest, hard-working Filipino (a guy) driver. It will be a driver focused job, taking my daughter to school/activities/friends place, as well as taking my husband and I to work, the helpers to the market, etc...please IM me if you know of anyone or have any recommendations.

I was told by my agency that a Filipino driver is under a normal domestic helper contract, but with the provision that he is able to drive as part of his domestic duties. That means that driving kids to school is allowed, and driving helpers to the market is allowed. But driving the parents to work is NOT allowed.

However, I know lots of people who don't adhere to this. So I'm wondering if I've been given the wrong information. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

syuan - The info that you've been given by the agency is correct. Most people are just not following the rules. You can call up the Immigration Department if you need more info.

You have to specify details if you require the DH to drive adults.

My helper's husband would like to come to Hong Kong. He's Filipino. I've never met him but have never had any serious problems with my helper. He's currently rasing their 2 sons. Apparently he was hired as a driver in Hong Kong before but the people moved away suddenly before the visa came through. Send me a message if you're interested.
