Are playpens necessary to protect your baby?

I bought a Mothercare Playpen Babyden 8 mths ago and found that it helped protect my baby in the event I was busy or in the kitchen.

At first he hated being in there but we made it comfortable with toys and later on added the tent to make it into a cubby house.

He's since grown out of it and available for sale in geoexpat classifieds for anyone who is interested

No, they're not necessary, although they are helpful. Ours ended up being more useful for toy storage and blocking the baby from eating the paperbacks on the lower book shelves.

I know this is a little bit late but just want to know if you still have the babyden for sale?
