I have the same problem with my 10 month old baby. She is starting to stand but will only do it on tip toes. Is there anything I can do to help her?

That's really common - I know plenty of babies / toddlers that walk on their toes a lot, but none of them have gone on to have any problems walking, and I don't think they've been slow at getting there. They're just working it out.

It could be nothing, and it's just the way she likes to walk, or it could be a result of the ligaments in her legs being stretch the wrong way.
When she sits on the floor, does she sit cross legged/ legs out in front, or on her knees with her calves splayed out to the side?
If she continually sits on her knees, it can make it difficult for her to walk with her feet flat.
My niece has this same problem.
A Dr should be able to tell quickly if it's the latter.
Being so young, it's no big deal and can easily be corrected by encouraging her to sit differently.

At 20 months, it's probably nothing, just part of the way she is developing her walking skills. It's only considered a problem in older kids, I'd probably just ask at the next well visit.
from http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/toe-walking/AN01253
Toe walking is not unusual in younger children who are just beginning to walk and otherwise growing and developing normally. However, toe walking after age 3 years should be evaluated by a doctor.

some docs actually think it helps with the development of the arch.
it's very normal for children under 3. i think it only calls for concern when the child is older than 3.5 yo.
