    re. Infant Physiotherapy

    Hi,
I have a preterm baby and she needs to have physiotherapy . am just wondering if there are any private clinics or therapists in hongkong who specialise in infant physiotherapy. We have been recomended to take her to a public hospital though it would be nice if we could find a private therapist if possible. Anyone with any info ????

Liesbeth Krammer at Physiokids in Central. I only have her mobile number so I'll PM that to you. I tried the public system and was not satisfied at all. Liesbeth is good and very experienced in this area.

Torak, I wonder if you mind sharing, what problems/ symptoms does your child have which prompts you to that he/she needs physiotherapy pls? Just want to be aware of them myself.

How much does Liesbeth Krammer charge??? My niece goes to Public clinic and it cost her 60 dollar for about 5 minutes with long queue. What is the normal charge for physyoterapy sessions?

It's about $450 - $500 for half an hour. In my experience it is very different from the public system. She gives you lots of exercises you can do at home and she is very good at following up with e-mails. It will depend on the problem, but I found we did not need to go as frequently as we did to the public hospital sessions.

i just have my first appoitment with Liebsbeth next friday 28th. she charges hkd 900 for an hour . she said that most insurances cover the cost of physiotherapy so i should get a medical claim voucher that she will sign. my baby was born at 29 weeks and she needs some occupational as well as physiotherapy to develop her motor skills and her muscle tone.
i am not very keen to take her to a public hospital coz i guess there will be a lot of waiting in queues plus i live all the way in tung chung.
will be happy to share any info necessary with anyone interested in knowing more about the public or private session of physiotherapy once i have some results myself.
