    Unhappy endometriosis

Does anyone know much about endometriosis or have had anything done about it. I am going to see a doctor tomorrow as I think I may have it. I have two children, one is almost 4 and the other is just 10 months old. I am still breastfeeding the baby and started my period last month, it was very light and only for 3 days, since starting this period I have had a really bad pain which seems to be in the back passage area, whilst lying down it seems to throb and it feels like there is a lot of pressure there.
I have done a little research on the signs and symptoms of it on the internet.
Will have to wait and see what the doctor says, I also have started with terrible headaches and feel tired all the time. I try to eat healthy and exercise a lot.
Any suggestions on what else you think it may be?
It has now been 4.5 weeks since my first period and I have not yet started another.
    Thanks for reading.

U need to have a scan and confirm whether you have endometriosis and if u do then the dr will tell u what to do. I had to have laproscopy done as it was quite spread inside. U need to know about the size of your cysts if u have any. There is no cause for endometriosis. Symptoms i get a lot of side pain as there is a lot of pressure

    best of luck

    Hi Gemini,
If you have endometriosis, the only current "cure" is to have the cyst(s) removed surgically. Recurrence is high and because there is no known cause it's really hard to prevent. I have spoke with another woman who has it too, she's had surgery 3 times already as they painful cysts kept coming back.

Symptoms I have are very painful bowel movements in the lower abdomen/sides and throbbing pain during periods. it's really a painful condition and unfortunately it seems there is not much you can do. My original cysts were both 4-5cm each covering both my ovaries. I've since had 1 baby and another on the way. the cysts have shrunk to 3cms because of the stop of menstruation but I expect them to grow back after I start my periods again. I've made some lifestyle changes, reducing stress and eating healthy, lots of veggies, etc. to see if it help but we'll have to wait and see...

good luck! and hopefully it's not what you have.
