Where to wax in HK island?

Apologies.. I couldnt think of anywhere else more appropriate to post this..

Can any one recommend a place that does waxing?

With the warm weather upon us ( hoorah!), i'm hoping to bring my toddler swimming and do more outdoor stuff.

Just need to get 'decent' first!

No need for fancy spa place ( do us moms have time anyway?:)..
unless they do waxing as well.

Hope some busy mom can recommend a place you use.

    thanks!

I've used beauty wave spa - www.beautywave.com.hk - I quite like them, they're really pleasant - I think they are reasonably priced (except for eyebrow wax - why is that so expensive over here? I still haven't found a good place for eyebrows - if anyone has any ideas, let me know that too!!)

But any other waxing, I've been really happy with beauty wave!! It's in Central, on Chiu Lung st (that's just one street next to the Li Yuen St markets, closer to Central station)

    Becca,

The Indian beauticians make house visits, and you can get eyebrows threaded. Here's the number for one

I can recommend two Indian beauticians who make house calls; they are very reasonable (HK$ 250- 300 for arms, legs, bikini line & underarms) and do a very good job. I was very happy with their threading as well.

I read in The List a few weeks ago that there's a new place in Soho, that uses hot wax as opposed to strips. I can't remember the name though.....anyone have any ideas? They claimed to be the only place in HK to use hot wax instead of strips!

What do you mean by "hot wax" as opposed to strips? You mean the wax that you put on and then just pull the wax off without needing the strip?? If so, Beauty Wave uses that for "delicate areas" (like Brazilians - I'm not sure if they use it for other areas)

About the Shabnam threading - how much to get your eyebrows done with them??

The Indian ladies use hot wax. Threading is about $30-50. But she won't make a house call just for threading, you've got to wax as well. If you're in TST you can also pop into the Indian Salon - Khubsoorat in Mirador Mansion 1/F shopping arcade. They charge $20.

The way Indian beauticians wax is first by spreading warm wax over the skin, then pressing a disposable paper like strip over it and then pulling it off. I think any spa or salon in HK is far too expensive than these beauticians. And the fact that they come to your place (Even on weekends) is an added bonus. I would not recommend the Indian Salon at TST, the area itself gives me the creeps and I wasn't impressed with their service either.
