    Infant nursery / day care?

    Hello,

Can anyone please advise if there are any day care / nurseries for infants in HK where the baby can be looked after with care and attention?

I've tried the web and most of the facilities are for pre-school kids age 2 and above?

I'm a new Mom and will be returning to work in July - need to have a place for my baby boy!!

Anywhere in Central, Mid-Levels, Wanchai would be great!

    Thanks and kind regards, Cindy

there are not many places around like this. there are a few gov't run places, but generally you must be low income and you are put on a waiting list.

it is assumed that most here would hire a helper as they are relatively inexpensive.

Cara is right, there are no private child care centres in HK for babies.

The govt. ones are for very low income families and there is a lot of demand for them, so you have to be really low income to get a place.

I think there are no private day care centres because people hire helpers, which are inexpensive....and you not only have someone to help look after your children, but someone to help with the hsework, cooking etc.

You could try Po Leung Kuk http://www.poleungkuk.org.hk/
I know the branch in Causeway Bay has a nursery for babies 0-2years. Don't know about the other locations. It's definitely not for low income parents as it costs almost as much as a helper would cost you. There normally is a waiting list so you need to contact them asap. Good luck!
The teachers there were really nice.

    Dear all,
    Thank you for your feedback.
I thought as much - but we really do not want to have a live-in helper and are looking for a child care specialist.
Does anyone know any good nannies?
    Thanks again, Cindy
