Problems putting 8 mnth baby to bed

Any tips on how i get my 8 month old baby girl to go to sleep easily at night.

i used to be able to feed her and she would be sleepy when i put her in her cot and fall off to sleep. however lately she's feeding, i put her in her cot and if i leave her she starts crying. i've tried cuddling her more, but as soon as i put her back in the cot she starts crying. if i leave her to cry herself to sleep (awful) it seems to take forever and not the way i want her to go to sleep.

why the change? How can i get her to go to bed happy?

i think could be separation anxiety kicking in? I read that 8-9mths is about the time these anxieties start...and it gets bad at night. My baby is jus 6.5mth now and already starting to show these signs as well. But now, i am practicing co-sleeping so she feels secure.
